Today, Zupa and I went to the mall to buy manga and various other things. We went to a nerdy store where I found figures! I had to ask him to buy me one. I’ve been watching My Hero Academia, I’m on season 3 (near season 4), and I’ll rewatch the first season to review as well! Because I’ve been watching My Hero Academia, I felt naturally drawn to the Deku and other heroes’ various figures. I decided to ask him for a Himiko Toga one, because it looked pretty and he saw someone cosplaying her a little bit ago.

HAIR

As soon as I took her out of the box, I noticed how well detailed her hair is. Her hair is extremely sturdy and looks very much like the show’s hair does. The small strands off her space buns feel immovable, and they curve nicely in the direction of the bun. The color of the hair is close to what the box shows, but is a slight bit darker than what her hair looks like in the show.

BODY

Her pose is wonderful. It shows her slightly bent over, her right leg and arms lifted. The way she’s positioned shows intent to stab you with the knife she’s carrying. Her left hand is open, about ready to clutch her knife. The right hand is holding the knife firmly.

CLOTHES

The clothes she wears aren't the villain-wear with the needles or mask. She’s wearing a standard Japanese school uniform, like her casual wear in the show. Her sweater on this figure is closer to a white rather than a beige. The color of her collar is like the one in the show, and her skirt is the same. The ribbon on her collar is a bright red. I adore how they sculpted her shoes, they look way more detailed than I expected.

ACCESSORIES

The accessory that comes with the figure is a small knife, like the one she carries in the show. The knife is flimsy, and easily bends. When I read reviews off of Amazon, some people had an issue where the knife would come bent. Mine did. I’m mildly disappointed, but we only paid $30 for it.

FACE

Finally, the face. I’m shocked at the pure detail in her face. You can see the details in her eyes, showing a very nice level of care in the making of her. Her mouth is wide open, with fangs. Her face really does show that she’s not there to mess around, she wants to stab you. They didn’t just do a sticker for her mouth, they sculpted it with depth in mind.

What they did right:

1. I love the way they sculpted her, her sculpt is very firm and not flimsy.

2. Her pose is very expressive. Her face is very detailed too.

3. They put a ton of effort into the clothes, she looks way better than most prize figures.

What they did wrong:

1. The knife is bendy and came bent.

2. The stand is extremely boring, just being a moderately transparent black base.

She has a lot more rights than wrongs, which I’m thankful for. I feel she stays true to the anime, so I’ll rate her a solid 9.5/10.
